Introduction: Steel melting shop is a very important phase in which steel manufacturing is done, this department has about 85% responsibility so that the company can be run as most of the main steel production is done from here, every one in this department Waste of one hour slows down their production speed, it is not that work does not stop here. Compared to every department, this is the biggest hindrance and danger that can sometimes be lost because any accident can happen here, many companies make reasonable efforts for safety to reduce the risks which this department don't work.
Steel melting shop is a department where many types of furnaces are used. The most commonly used furnaces for its production are blast furnace, induction furnace, electric arc furnace, in which the highest quantity of blast furnace and induction furnace are used. It is done today, I will tell you in this blog in some important topics related to induction furnace.
In the steel melting shop, the first thing to be talked about is the things used to run the melting shop,
- Electrical Department (PLC Card, Thyristor's, Capacitors etc.

Procedure: A panel in a steel melting shop has two furnaces in which one furnace is kept closed while the other is in use because two of the furnaces cannot be run simultaneously which reduces production, water before running the furnace ( Iron-free) Management is carried out so that there is no loss due to heat, then power is supplied from the power plant.This is done by giving heat from 1450'C to 1500'C. Before giving heat, the furnace is pre-cast with raw materials containing sponge iron, iron scrap in which melting periodically removes carbon from the furnace. For better quality in iron, anthracite coal is poured into it. When the metal is converted into liquid then for next process hydraulics in furnace That is inserted in the back with the help of the cylinder ladder (bucket-shaped) which are transported by taking the help of cranes.
Safety Guidelines: As I told you earlier that the steel melting shop is a department which is the most important as well as the center of the accident, anyone can be killed here if caution is not taken. There are some following rules that I am writing
- Without helmets and shoes, do not go to the shop first, due to which many pieces of iron can be found in the feet due to being stuck in the ground.
- Unless the panel is closed, the furnace should not be attached, because there is an electric supply everywhere in it.
- Always listen to your supervisor because he has been working with you for a long time, he knows what is right and what is wrong.
